Description: Cycling (Road) is the use of a bicycle for the means of transport, recreation or for sport. The Cycling competition consists of participants on road bikes competing in three cycling events; 1) a road race where athletes ride together in the peloton or a pack of riders, 2) a time trial where the athlete ride as an individual striving to make the best time, and a hill climb, where the participant rides up a steep graded hill.

Road Race :Road Race start area, will be just below the Canadian Rockies International Airport. 1-9370 Airport Access Road, Cranbrook. There will be parking available by the airport.Time Trail: held in the Wycliffe Area on Pighin Road. 600m up the hill from the intersection at Mission Wycliffe Road and Highway 95A. (49°36’19.7″N 115°51’47.5”W)Hill Climb: Starts at the Platzl in Kimberley.Right near the start is the Kimberley Visitor Centre. 270 Kimberley Ave., Kimberley.
In all age categories, in both Recreational and Competitive divisions, licensed and unlicensed cyclists (there is no distinction)
(a) Day 1 – Thursday – Time Trial – Distance: 13 Kilometres, rolling course, Start and Finish at the same place
(b) Day 2 – Friday – Road Race (13.5km loop) – Distances: Men 55-69: 67.5 Kilometres (approx.) 5 Loops; Women 55-69 and Men 70-79: 54 Kilometres (approx.) 4 Loops
; Women 70 and over, and Men 80 and over: 40.5 Kilometres (approx.) 3 Loops
(c) Day 3 – Saturday – Hill Climb – Distance: 3.2 Kilometres; Grade Avg. 5.5%, Max 14.8%
