“We would like to thank all of the great volunteers that have been putting in a lot of effort already. We are fortunate to have such a great team working on bringing the 55+ Games to the area!
Our appreciation is also extended to those who have just registered to be a volunteer too. We’re looking good with about a third of the required volunteers already registered.

Hello, all of you 55+ Games participants and fans!
Welcome to the Kimberley/Cranbrook 2018 55+ BC Games.
This year the games will be held from September 11 to 15 in the beautiful East Kootenays and will take place in Cranbrook, Kimberley and areas in between these fabulous cities!
The bid team was led by representatives from the Cranbrook Leisure Services Departments and the Kimberley Parks, Recreation and Facilities Department. At the time of the bid they had been in contact with a number or tourism sector individuals and businesses who had expressed a strong interest in being involved with the formation of the Host Society. They were excited and happy to pass on the news when the BC Senior Games Society announced the successful award of the 2018 55+ Games to Kimberley/Cranbrook and area.
Then the work began! After the successful bid the job of recruiting folks to take on the leadership role for the games. We now have co-presidents, directors, chairs and the overall volunteer list is growing. There are a number of people in our communities willing to step up to ensure the success of the games and we thank each and every one of them. We expect to involve 1000+ volunteers from the area.
The BC Senior Games Society (BCSGS) has approved our selection of 23 sports and we expect to see 2500+ participants, supporters and officials in our area in September.
Please check this website for the link to the volunteer portal, the list of sports and venues and a list of accommodations. These will be posted as they become available. Participants should also check with their local zones for registration details.
Please check this page for further updates and stay tuned to our Facebook page: 2018 55+ BC Games.
We look forward to the opportunity to host visitors from across BC, showing the beauty of the Rocky Mountains, and delivering a memorable and successful 55+ BC Games.
